Artist development scheme for emerging composers and musicians

I was asked by Britten Pears Arts to produce this new music project featuring alumni of the Contemporary Composition & Performance course led by Colin Matthews and Mark-Anthony Turnage in 2019.

Delayed for two years by the pandemic, the international cohort of composers and musicians came together in June 2022 for an intensive week of rehearsals on the pieces they began writing in the project’s first stage. These works were then premiered at the end of the first weekend of the 2022 Aldeburgh Festival.

In advance of the festival, I also led a weekend-long residency at Snape Maltings for the group which focused on developing their future as an emerging collective (read more about this here).

Each of the composers was provided with a professional-level film of their work’s premiere, some of which are found below.
